My Friday night class and the workshops at The Hebden Therapy Centre are designed to provide a warm, comfortable space where you can be still, quiet and begin to relax.
Yoga practice encourages you to observe the body, breath and mind, to let go of the stresses of everyday life and use the tools of yoga to relax, release and renew.
My classes are small and friendly. You are encouraged to listen to your body and work at your own pace.
Each session is focused on relaxation, stretching and asana work combined with breath awareness, practice of mudras and pranayama, interwoven with a little yoga philosophy.
The emphasis throughout the class is on observing the relationship between the body, mind and breath.
You are welcome to come and try a Friday class or a workshop; please phone to book a place and check dates.
Mats and blocks available. Please bring layers of clothing and a blanket.
Normally classes are bookable in six-week blocks at a cost of £36.00
I started attending yoga classes in 1991 when I was working as a full time English teacher in a secondary school.
In North London I found a wonderful teacher, Nina Lewis who inspired me to develop my home practice and eventually to train to teach.
I completed my 3 year training with the BWY in 2007 and now attend classes and workshops in the Satyananda tradition.
My aim is to facilitate relaxation: to provide a space where you can learn to use the tools of yoga, to accept yourself in the present moment, to enjoy a breathing space.
